As most of you know, in addition to regular blogging on news and events coming out of eBay Inc., I’ve been doing my best to set up more 1:1 conversations, either in email or face-to-face, with key people within the eBay organization. The goal is to continue to provide access to folks that you normally wouldn’t get. To that end, I exchanged emails with Dinesh Lathi (above; left), VP of Seller Experience, to get his take on some key topics I’ve seen come up on Ink in the past. What follows is a transcription of the 4 questions I asked and his subsequent answers. I look forward to providing more access like this moving forward.
Cheers,

RocketPlace is Next Week
The RocketPlace conference is coming much sooner than I thought. September 10-12 to be exact. For those not aware of it, the event is taking place at The Rio in Las Vegas and is aimed at giving PowerSellers techniques, strategies and tools to sell successfully on eBay.
I had originally planned on heading down to the conference so I could “micro-blog” using the eBay Ink Twitter feed but unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it this time around. With my wife so close to her due date I just don’t feel comfortable being more than a short driving distance from her over the next few weeks.
However, it does seem like they have a full agenda and I believe Todd Lutwak, Sr. Director of Seller Development at eBay and Marsha Collier, author of eBay for Dummies are keynote speakers at next week’s event. Also, it looks like there will be a Twitter feed from the event anyway at http://twitter.com/rocketplace.
If anyone is able to go and is interested in writing an event summary to go up on here for eBay Ink readers, please shoot me an email at ebayink@ebay.com">ebayink@ebay.com. At the very least, if you do attend and write about it, please shoot me a link to your blog so I can highlight here on Ink. I’m bummed that I won’t be able to report first-hand.
Cheers,
RBH
