I haven’t addressed last week’s tragedy in Japan – nor the repercussions – here on eBay Ink yet but it has been top of mind ever since my wife and I saw the initial disaster unfold late last week.
In response to this disaster, and to support victims of this tragedy, PayPal is crediting transactional fees incurred from March 11 to April 10, 2011, to any US 501(c)(3) organization or Canada Revenue Agency registered charity fundraising to aid Japan relief*.

eBay has launched spotlight Japan Relief eBay Giving Works pages in the US and UK to help customers donate to relief agencies through buying and selling items. We’ll waive our standard donation processing fees for these transactions. In looking at the page this morning, over $620,000 has been raised by the eBay community in just a few short days. Thank you so much.
These are just two ways in which people are coming together around the world in a consolidated effort to provide quick response and aid to those in need. I join every employee and colleague in thought and prayer for the families and people involved in this tragedy.

*All organizations collecting for disaster relief in Japan are eligible to receive fee credits. These will be issued for qualifying US 501(c)(3) and Canada Revenue Agency registered charities raising donations for Japan relief between March 11 to April 10, 2011.
