When did you start selling on eBay: In October of 1998.
What do your purchase off of eBay for yourself: Oh gosh just about everything, unless I can't find it on eBay. I personally collect early American pressed glass and early 1900's blue opalescent glass so I am always looking for new pieces to add to my collections..
Most recent eBay purchase: More glass!
Most memorable eBay experience: Purchasing a storage locker full of NASA items. I found an autographed photo of Neil Armstrong, started bidding at $9.95 - no reserve, and it flew up to $2,550, then I had to ship it to the U.K. Nail biting and wonderful experience!
What do you enjoy most about eBay: I get to own my own business, with no limitations on how much I can sell. I get to customize and make a brand for myself. I love having an eBay identity!

Change Happens: Learning to Evolve with Your Business

Nobody Cares About Us Little Guys…It’s Not Fair!

    What do you sell?
Mostly antiques and collectibles but also an eclectic variety of items including fashion clothes, toys and other new household products – whatever I’m able to source at the right price.

What advice would you give to other sellers?
It’s a business whether you sell 1 item or 1000, it’s got to be approached from a business mentality, be prepared to deal with problems, unhappy customers and the good times too of course! Always be professional and keep the understanding that the customer is always right ( and yes, we all know they aren’t). The customers dealt with this way will come back and tell others even if there was a problem that needed solving.

Best place to look for deals?
I source through thrift shops and auction houses mostly.

    What are your interests?
In my spare time I am an advocate for Autism awareness as my son was diagnosed at age 2. I network with other parents going through the struggles of finding out their child is autistic. I am also a singer and was recently in a band in Reno, Nevada but am band less at the moment. As I said above, I collect antique glass and have a passion for high quality art glass as well…I love picking it up at the places where people don’t know what they have.

    Education
I am a high school graduate and only did a semester of college. I’m not much for book learnin’, like the school of hard knocks!

What you wanted to be growing up?
Oh a veterinarian definitely! Until I found out how much math and chemistry was involved!

What is your favorite social media tool?
Facebook. It’s such a huge array of people and topics and I love that I have connected with many childhood friends.

    Favorite quote?
“Do what it is you fear the most, then you control that fear.” Heard this in a Tom Hopkins seminar many years ago! Very relevant because I suffer from OCD and get major anxiety about doing things I haven’t done before.

    Favorite album?
Favorite CD is Adam Lambert, For Your Entertainment.

    Favorite Movie?
Hmm…. tough one, there have been so many I have liked!

What do you think will be the future of online shopping/selling?
I think it will continue to grow as we become a more and more “lazy” society. Not saying that in a bad way, just that people don’t want to go out to get what they need/want, they want it all in one place and easy – they want easy! That is why free shipping is such a huge draw – no math to figure out, aka easy! As mobile apps and phones become more and more available and user friendly, mobile purchasing will only grow…the internet is here to stay like it or not!
