VIDEO Interview with Lynda Talgo regarding eBay Buyer Protection

    All,
I was also able to spend some time with Lynda Talgo, Senior Director of Resolutions at eBay, to discuss the eBay Buyer Protection news coming out of today’s Seller Release in more detail. What follows is a 3-part, face-to-face with Lynda in the lobby of the Community building at San Jose HQ. Again, like the video conversation with Dinesh, I’ve embedded the questions right into the videos.

Lynda gives an overview of the eBay Buyer Protection announcement…

Lynda discusses how the program differs from PayPal Buyer Protection and how this differs from last year’s initial launch…

Lynda talks about how this will benefit both buyers & sellers on eBay…

    Cheers,
    RBH

Let me start off by saying that I like ebay.
I have a seller on ebay who proves that he was being dishonest through his own ebay messages. Long story short. I lost $292 by going through ebay’s Buyer Protection. I made a case. It was clear from the ebay messages that the seller was untruthful. He would not provide tracking information. I lose the case.
No product.
Of course I will continue to use ebay. They are a good company.
I have a sneaky suspicion that this program is all smoke and mirrors. A marketing ploy. I hate being skeptical….The lesson “I” learned anyway is…for whatever reason, (which was not provided) ebay did not protect me in this case.

very good propaganda of ebay. I am a victum of believing in ebay’s buyer protection. I had bought jewelry from seller who sold fake jewelry (glass stones and gold plated) as 14K solid gold and gems. I open up four cases and ebay instructed me to ship the items back to the seller and then enter the tracking number proving I’ve done so, so ebay can refund me my money. Guess what! after I send register mail (again spending a lot of shipping whichh is not refundable by the protection plan) and obtain the tracking numbers, I could not enter it to ebay’s “responding to case” and “enter tracking number page”. When I click to enter tracking numbers, it kept giving me error message saying that “page not responding, check back later” I checked and checked and spend many hours a day to deal with this. Find ways to contact customer support, etc.. Nothings works, case is about to auto close in a few hours still not response from ebay except a auto note saying that if I don’t enter tracking numbers, case will auto close. I feel very angry for trusting ebay.

Sold $4500 item on Ebay. Buyer complained item was not what was described. Ebay gave full refund to buyer and closed out case while buyer still had $4500 item unreturned. Ebay charged back my Paypal account to recover the $4500 they refunded.

Buyer has my item plus $4500 refunded.

REPEATED contact with Ebay produced NO resolve.

Hi all, anyone have Lynda Talgo’s email addres or phone number so I can discuss a ton of problems with their site and the way they are handeling their sellers, I for 1 am sick of being treated like a 2nd class citizen and having their customer service reps not have any common sence on how to handle problems. any help would be appreciated
