I don't like the "how likely are you to recommend" question, because 1) hardly anyone recommends eBay in general anymore, much less specific sellers.

and

2) if the buyer specializes in a narrow category, then a) it is likely that he will not recommend you to his rivals
-or-
b)to his non-collector friends
-so-
he could truthfully answer NO he would not be likely to recommend you, even tho he might be ecstatic about the seller and the item.

Also, the yes/no question on arrival time is unfair as many others have pointed out. Yes, it leaves room for "But the seller worked like a dog to find my parcel when it was hung up in Sheboygan. Great job!"
But raise your hand if you believe ANYONE will read those comments?

I loved eBay at one time and keep wanting to believe in eBay.... I really really do.

I'll be the eBay supporter. Yes, being using eBay is becoming more... complicated? They are in to so many things, it isn't like working with Dell anymore, just computers, we're talking to GE, with so many heads to the hydra, I'm surprised they are still the best place to buy and sell stuff with your neighbor.

I really wish they'd do a better job of supporting the apps that they've just launched. eBay can't make the experience better but some awesome benefits are floating around in SM. Canvase has the coolest search add on to let people get a better look at products and good god Outright should be the default for every seller instead of the accounting assistant crap.

Personally, eBay is still the best, but they should be fearful that the complexity is making that opinion a challenge. Do us a favor and let the stuff buried in selling manager come and play more.

It seems that eBay is becoming an increasingly complicated place for both sellers and buyers.

Upon encountering one of these feedback test forms on a recent purchase, my first thought was: "what an incredible waste of my time."

eBay must keep in mind that the buyer's time has monetary value and that this also plays into the overall cost the buyer considers when making a purchase, whether it be on eBay or another venue.

There have been times where I've opted to purchase outside of eBay due to the fact that entire purchase AND feedback processes have become cumbersome and time consuming. The extra layers eBay is heaping onto the purchasing process are turning into deal-breakers.

Feedback needs to be concise and quick.

Why can eBay not concentrate all their effort on getting the site working correctly and providing a level playing field for everyone instead of making an endless amount of small, unnecessary, annoying, fiddly changes that aggravates both buyers and sellers?

Nearly all changes made alienate eBay’s customers and 90% of 'innovations' fail and disappear within 12 months despite massive pushes from eBay. Decide on a strategy and stick to it instead of changing your business model every 2 months causing every seller to do the same.

Instead of promoting massive 'Outlet sellers' who will quickly become dissatisfied with the way their company will get slandered on eBay (however everyone know eBay will just remove their negs and fake their feedback for them) why not make the experience better for everyone and do away with such appalling practices such as best match etc and quadruple (at least) eBay's customer service team so reports and message are actually seen, followed up and replied to instead of ignored in the vast majority of cases.

It would be very easy to listen to your customers (visit the eBay forums some time, you might learn that not everything is as rosy as you like to think) and make eBay a better place, or you can carry on making never ending pointless alterations to the site and ruining eBay for everyone.

I am assuming this post follows the general consensus of eBay users since only 2 comments have been published despite this post being live for 4 days now however feel free to prove me wrong by publishing my comment. Thank you

That form concerns me. I'd be happy to see the back of the hover-stars and get them replaced with radio buttons, but it is far too long, and as a buyer, I would not fill it out. IMHO you're pandering to a vocal but tiny minority of buyers now. The vast majority of people want to buy their thing, pay for their thing, and get their thing, that's all. They certainly don't want to have to complete a census form for every $2 purchase.

Someone needs to look at the usability of these forms, and especially in cases where buyers may have a dozen or more transactions to leave feedback for. You need to make it so that people with complaints can make them, but AT THE SAME TIME, people who just want to tick a box to say "I'm happy", can do that. Leave it as it is, with an extra hidden text field for reason why if buyers select a 1 or 2 DSR star. That's plenty complicated enough.

If you want to fiddle, then add a "one-click perfect transaction" box, that gives a pozzie and 4 lots of 5 stars in one go: I suspect that would get a lot more buyers leaving feedback than happens now.

Surely Ebay knows that letting Buyers rate Sellers on Shipping Time and Postage cost is not Fair and Equal Treatment.(Buyers can penalize sellers for the postal service and the price of postage, not even in the sellers hands)

Surely Ebay knows that not letting Sellers tell other Sellers about scammers or bad transactions with certain buyers is not Fair and Equal Treatment.

And surely Ebay knows that charging the same selling fees to all Sellers and Not giving equal visibility is cheating Ebay sellers and just seems down right illegal not to mention very Bad Business practices .

Why oh Why can't someone at Ebay turn this place around and make Ebay what it was in the past and what it should still be today before all the unjust changes that sent sellers leaving in droves?

Well....to be honest I could not bring myself to watch the videos. I know I'm supposed to but I have been so disillusioned by what is happening with feedback and with the sellers' plight in general that I just haven't been able to visit the site, list there, buy there, etc. It is my great hope that Ebay will take better care of the honest sellers soon. That's all I can say on this. The only reason I'm even posting this is to tell the powers-that-be that I am far from alone in this disillusionment.
