Thank you Richard – its spreading all over the internet like wildfire. Ebay had a 29 percent decline for the second quarter.

(NOTE: I am a current eBay employee…)

“However, the report also showed that trends in the marketplace business may be starting to turn. Shares of eBay /quotes/comstock/15*!ebay/quotes/nls/ebay (EBAY 20.30, +0.85, +4.37%) rose 3% in after-hours trading following the report. The company also gave a forecast that was higher than the targets set by Wall Street.

“The results look in line with expectations; the positive thing is we are definitely seeing some stabilization in the core marketplace business,” said Aaron Kessler of Kaufman Bros. ”

“The number of active registered users grew 8% from the first quarter. ”

THAT is good news! The share holders seem to like the news as well!

“we are definitely seeing some stabilization in the core marketplace business”

They evidentally aren’t looking where I’m looking. Everyone I know is complaining about lack of sales in core. Most are no longer bothering to list. If that was the goal then its a success ;-)
