Vancouver call center supports for eBay.com and not international sites.

I like how they won't tell the public how many employees thier hiring in the US.

While they told the Vancouver employees that they'll be hiring majority of India and Philippines....

5 times eBay CS by phone has represented that they will not charge me for the fraudulent buyers fees that automatically hit my account. They took my money anyway and have not returned it to me. Their Customer service is non existant and pathetic. I have now spoken with more than 5 CS agents and will call agian Monday Morning. I am rethinking selling items through eBay at this point. It is not worth the headache to continually deal with this.

Isell high end items that cost in the $thousands!

How can you have 700 CS ops, and have such bad customer service? Is it that only the PS and Diamonds get support, and the rest of us "eat cake" (get canned messages and no support)? You can take this any way you want, but it really is the truth. Sorry.

I imagine reducing customer support is appropriate since all seems to be geared toward reducing the amount of sellers on the site. Diamond sellers are large enough to have their own customer support...at least that's my thought on it. Ebay never corrects me ;-)

While I concur with the consolidation and streamlining theory and thought process, I agree that in today's economic times this is a tough blow for those that will lose their jobs and I too wish them good fortune.

Having said that, I must take a wait and see attitude for the transfer of services to Salt Lake and other global facilities. If maintaining similar staffing includes increasing the facilities in India, this will be seen by many as just another company moving jobs from North America to save money.

eliminating MORE Customer Service jobs while expanding the dispute resolution CS needs - Richard this doesn't bode well for Dispute Resolution and I still REALLY want to know what TRAINING eBay will be giving these people with the power to refund our sales. Please can you get us some answers?

The Canadian customer support operation in Vancouver, as I recall, served a variety of communities inc the UK overnight way back when and also Asia-Pac in addition to the US and Canada itself.

In my experience Canadian CS reps were among the most talented and best-rated of all eBay CS teams globally.

All that matters is: are there gonna be a fewer CS reps and will that impact members? And it seems like it's a another case of 'we'll see.'

More simplification.

It is already tough for Canadians to be competitive on eBay because of their extra ordinarily high postal rates.

It will be interesting to see the Canadian reaction to this news.
