Skype Keeps on Moving…

Earlier today, Skype launched ‘The Skype Nomad’, an attempt to create a live, worldwide, human demonstration of how Skype can now be used anywhere, anytime and on the move.

Skype has recruited Australian writer Rebecca Campbell as ‘The Nomad’, to embark on a 33 day round-the-world trip across 15 countries including China, Australia, US (including the state of Alaska), Italy and Estonia. The twist is that she must remain in ‘perpetual motion’ for her entire journey – always moving, even when she’s sleeping.

Her itinerary can be viewed here and you can find out all about the ambitious trek in Howard Wolinsky’s post on the Skype in the US blog.

From Rebecca’s About Me page:

So watch this space for my escapades, encounters, films, pics, highs and lows from my adventures in China, Alaska, Australia, USA, Europe and the UK. I’ll be sending it all for free using the gadgets Skype has given me.

It’s all for a good cause - the charity Motivation which helps provide ways for disabled kids to get around.

Part of Campbell’s trip to the US includes an RV excursion from SF to Seattle. I’m finding out if I can jump on board for a a few miles to get an update of her trip in-person. In the meantime, follow her trip as she blogs along the way.

Cheers,
RBH
