Ebay states "Negative or neutral Feedback will be removed when it appears a buyer is abusing the system. If you think this is happening to you, report to eBay by using the Contact Us link on any eBay Help page. We’ll also remove Feedback when a buyer doesn’t respond to an Unpaid Item (UPI) report, or if buyer responds but doesn’t specifically call out seller performance, item condition or transaction problems. ”

So when I received a feedback: "Run,HERE IS YOUR WORST EBAY NIGHTMARE,this guy is unstable,RUN AWAY,DO NOT BUY". and then an email: "ENJOY YOUR PERFECT FEEDBACK SCORE NOW YOU DESERVE IT" I asked Ebay to remove this for precisely the reasons stated above by EBay "if buyer responds but doesn’t specifically call out seller performance, item condition or transaction problems", Ebay does absolutely nothing.

I wanted Ebay management to know that Ebay rules are a farse because customer service does not enfoce Ebay rules.

Are you aware that numerous eBay users have been unable to leave feedback for over a week?
I have sent several emails to eBay help and even spoke to Live Chat to report this issue. The Live Chat rep - Meridyth - said to try again in 24 hours. I did and it still does not work!
he last email response said that eBay has no idea how long it will take to resolve this issue.
Just thought the CEO of the company should be aware of this problem.

I buy and sell only on eBay, for now anyway. My activities right now are on hold until I see if eBay comes to its senses though. There are other sites where I can wheel and deal, and with less selling fees to boot. In the past, I sometimes left feedback for my buyers first, if I liked what I saw in their profile, but that was not the norm. As a buyer, it was normal for me to leave it first, as it should be. Now however, I will never leave feedback first for my buyers. Afterall, buyer feedback has been made meaningless. If a seller cannot leave HONEST feedback, why bother. Buyer's don't need feedback any longer, they will all look the same anyway. How can a seller tell one 100% FB buyer from another? I don't buy or sell to earn feedback. If a buyer leaves me FB, I will return the favor as a thank you measure, no other reason. If he doesn't want to leave it for me first, so be it. I don't need anymore feedback to buy or sell, so I don't care if I ever receive another one. My last dozen sales resulted in two FB's exchanged.
I have never left any feedback other than positive, but at least the tool to warn others was available if the need ever arose.
Buyers ask in the Answer Center why it's getting so hard to get FB from sellers. The answer? They are told to thank eBay, their FB has become meaningless so many seller's don't bother to leave it anymore unless they receive it first.
You may think you are helping buyers this way, but you're not.
And I dare anyone at eBay to look me, or any seller, in the eye and tell us that there is not a single buyer on eBay that has ever deserved a neg.
There are sellers who deserves negs for sure. But you can't tell me that there aren't buyers who deserve some as well.
Thanks eBay, for making buyer feedback meaningless.

Just a brief comment...

I believe Lurch's post back on 4.19.08 @ 2:13 PM clearly outlines the progressive decline of eBay.

No changes eBay attempts to force on sellers to alter the site for the better will be futile, unless eBay changes it's attitude and internal structure.

I think TheBrewsNews clearly outlined specific changes that eBay should institute internally to accomplish this.

Re: the above mentioned email to us

There are najor errors regarding the new Priority Mail charges. The smaller Flat Rate boxes are $9.80 now, not $8.95 It did NOT stay the same as before, it did go up.

This has got to be corrected. I can see that many buyers will be very angry when a seller shows the legit higher rate in their listings. And it could cause loss of sales.

I cannot believe that they sent out this mass mailing with such an error. Just one more sloppy thing after another.

Here is a link to the actual rate increases per the USPS. Maybe someone at eBay could read it and figure it out and then send a corrected email to everyone.

Richard, below is the email sellers got today from ebay, I would request you obtain additional information and let us know, as you will note, it is the standard ebay vague:

"Feedback changes to benefit sellers
eBay's making some important changes to Feedback in May to boost buyer confidence and improve the eBay marketplace. The changes include important protections for sellers against unfair negative Feedback. Negative or neutral Feedback will be removed when it appears a buyer is abusing the system. If you think this is happening to you, report to eBay by using the Contact Us link on any eBay Help page. We'll also remove Feedback when a buyer doesn't respond to an Unpaid Item (UPI) report, or if buyer responds but doesn't specifically call out seller performance, item condition or transaction problems. "

1. Feedback changes to benefit sellers

Did they laugh when they came up with that sentence?

2. The changes include important protections for sellers against unfair negative Feedback. Negative or neutral Feedback will be removed when it appears a buyer is abusing the system.

What's the rule, 5%, 40%, when we feel like it? What guideline was written and given to the employees who will be determining this? How many employees have been hired to ensure customer service being timely and responsive?

3. if buyer responds but doesn't specifically call out seller performance, item condition or transaction problems.

Call me simple minded, but this one is just plain puzzling. If a buyer does not pay, how can they possibly have a valid comment about seller performance, item condition or transaction problems? Most sellers follow ebay/Paypal's rule - get paid before you ship afterall.

Again, how many employees will now be now reviewing ALL INR disputes, we all know it was an automated system previously, again, can you provide us with the guideline written for employees are responsible for making these decisions.

Look forward to your answers. Thanks Richard!

Well, - if you go to their store and put one in a shopping cart, you'll see they do charge over $5.00 to ship a $6.00 item that barely weighs one ounce. What would they do to a seller who was reported for gouging like that on shipping? LOL

I'm tempted to get myself one, but I am conflicted with not wanting to give the SOBs anymore of my money. Plus what the heck would I do with it? I could add it as an extra in a package for an all time star eBay buyer LOL.
